"Park Platz" merges art and interactive programming into a shared experience. Inside a temporary pavilion designed by architecture studio c/o now, international contemporary artists from Berlin present new works, turning the museum's parking lot into a vibrant urban gathering place.

The corporate identity for the online campaign was created during the pandemic and aims to spread good vibes and a pleasant atmosphere — an invitation to go outside despite the restrictions and meet people at the curb of a parking lot, under the open sky. The sky conveys a summery mood, while the yellow lettering references urban cityscape aesthetics and simultaneously serves as a placeholder for sunshine.

During the one-week construction phase and the twelve-week duration of the project, we were on-site, documenting the process and creating content for the Berlinische Galerie's social media channels. This included directing photographers, producing and editing video material, and composing unique soundtracks for the campaign.

“Park Platz" is about bringing in different voices and asking a simple question: what can public space actually do for us, today and going forward? Over the summer, architects, artists, and other creatives bring site-specific projects to life, each shaped by their own experience and point of view — working directly with the people who live around the museum.

A project with Atelier Bunter Jakob, Bilgisaray, c/o now, Zuzanna Czebatul, Kotti-Shop, Kunstwerkstatt Kreuzberg der Lebenshilfe Berlin e.V., Daniel Lie, Hanne Lippard, Mpower e.V., Ania Nowak, Lucas Odahara, POLIGONAL, Przemek Pyszczek, Liz Rosenfeld, Marinella Senatore, and Raul Walch, curated by Nuno De Brito Rocha.

Trailer

After the events, warm, nostalgic summer memories were meant to remain. That's why part of the concept involved using an analog photo aesthetic for the documentary images, which captured the atmosphere of the location and featured many people. Due to the pandemic and the restrictions in place at the time, the events took place outdoors and with a limited number of participants, which further shaped the atmosphere of the images. The idea was to show a sequence of moments one after another (stories / photo galleries). Different perspectives and image details collided, alternated, and complemented one another. Together, they formed an overall picture. Within these atmospheric image sequences, contrasting shots (video / photo) of artworks with a factual, unfiltered character were included. For this part of the online campaign, we collaborated with photographers Phillip Zwanzig and Katja Strempel.
